The Right to Information (RTI) Act was passed by the Parliament of India on June 15, 2005. It was brought completely into force on October 12, 2005. This Act enables the citizens to seek information from a public authority, a Body of Government or Instrumentality of State. The information request should be worked upon quickly, the request may be rejected or the necessary information should be provided, within thirty days. The main aim of the Right to Information Act is to give more power to the citizens, promoting transparency, and accountability in the working of the Government. This Act enables our system of Government, Democracy, to work for the people in real. All constitutional authorities come under the Right to Information Act, making it one of the most powerful laws of the country.
Citizens can seek information regarding the activities of the College by submitting a written request with details like Name, address, contact telephone number and particulars of the information sought. The reason for seeking information need not be given. The duly signed request may be addressed to the Information Officer, D J Academy for Managerial Excellence, Coimbatore-Pollachi Highway, Othakkalmandapam, Coimbatore-641032 with the prescribed fee. Copies of documents will be charged according to the rate fixed by the Tamil Nadu Information Commission.
